Business insurance

General liability insurance

Insurance for third-party bodily injury or property damage tied to your operations, plus related legal costs. It excludes employee injuries.

General liability insurance covers third-party claims for bodily injury and property damage arising from your operations. It is the broad, foundational business policy most companies carry.

Some licenses and many contracts call for proof of general liability before work begins. It does not cover professional mistakes, which is why businesses often pair it with professional liability.
